...& May {baby} Showers

April flowers brought May showers (ha)...but really May started off with a SURPRISE baby shower by my co-workers. I was SO SO SO surprised! We had a meeting -- that I thought was completely legit and it had been planned for quite a while so I was clueless -- we met at Starbucks (come to find out to get me out of the office)...and when we got back I walked into this, and cried:

I am so grateful!! Unfortunately I was not dressed for success that day.

The rest of the month consisted of...
...planting some flowers + the Kentucky Derby (from our living room. Rick won, again.)
That's a mighty fine husband I have if I do say so myself.
ready for the Derby!
27 Weeks
...Nursery furniture started arriving! We set up the crib and R set up the dresser.

...Some friends had a fun Cinco de Mayo party. I made  Tres Leches cake...it's not the prettiest cake but it sure is my favorite!!!

...As all our months do, fooooood. After cleaning out the garage we decided to go try a new (to us) pizza place {Blue Highway Pizzeria} and it is our new favorite! Haagen Daz free cone day is also our new favorite! Not sure how we've gone so many years not knowing about that gem.

we (as in Rick) made this for our wood scraps and such

...The doc left me a sweet mother's day surprise (pedicure because I can't reach my toes!) accompanied by a mushy gushy love note, my favorite.

28 weeks on Mother's Day.
I always know which weeks the doc had to work
because I have to take my own pic in the guest room, haha.
...One of R's mission companions was in FL for work and came to visit! It happened to fall on the one day a year this local blueberry farm so we put Mr. Pulver to work.

these blueberries were DELICIOUS!

this is the last time I got to wear that shirt because the buttons were popping..

^putting the berries to good use.

Sometimes one of your best friends needs a package & a good quote/scripture
29 weeks
...The relief society got together to watch Meet the Mormons (so good!)...I had to send R a picture of these popcorns in cute little things...he knew I was in heaven.

...My visiting teacher, Sonia, and the bishop's wife, Gladys, hosted my baby shower. It was just so perfect and I can't tell them thank you enough for all of the work they put into it. They are amazing and so selfless/generous to have taken the initiative to do this for me/Rick/baby O!

the other side of this is FSU fabric - you know the doc is obsessed!
I've learned that I'm obsessed with all things 'applique on the baby booty'!

...Kids create the best wrapping paper..."pregnant Janell"

My Kuh-rye-nuh! AKA one of the most amazing people you could ever meet. It had been about a year since we'd seen each other and now she's engaged and I'm having a baby!

So grateful for all of these ladies!!!

This girl came all the way from IL and was totally fine that half of her day in FL
would be spent with strangers at my baby shower.
Love her!
Of course the rest of the day was spent by the pool!
30 weeks!
...The day after the baby shower we headed north...to the in laws' and the beach!
I supervised (kept him hydrated) while he worked alllllllll day
He was EXHAUSTED but his first patio looked great!

Even though the water was too cold to enjoy, the beach was soooo nice. Plus my MIL worked her magic and got us upgraded to the presidential suite. Jon, Lindsey, & Ansley came with us - we had fun eating way too many cookies and playing too many dominoes and too much Rita Shakita [a game we're pretty sure the boys were making up rules to as we went].

and going out for homemade ice cream^

We're lucky to have the amazing Tami Darley who took time out of her always busy life to snap a few maternity shots of us

And that wraps up our month of May!

saying hasta luego to GG at 31 weeks
