August Extras

August was busy for us. We started the month with a black tie affair - the Clawson wedding. It was beautiful, of course.

Then we went to visit my parents for my Ma's birthday. I think it was great - she really enjoyed her birthday this year. We spent the day around town at the farmers market and had dinner at home.

I've talked about these before...strawberry croissants from a bakery in Sarasota called C'est la Vie. Their customer service is awful which normally makes us not want to return BUT these babies are delicious and we can't stay away.
my daddy!
These are black currant scones with orange glaze and they are also incredible - from The Savory Street International CafĂ© and Bakery. (If you don't know, most of what we do when we visit my family is eat)

That cute lady there, Ma, made cactus flower juice (benefits) and some of her regular breakfasts. She's a kitchen magician.

My big brother showed up too! This is typically my view when he arrives...

The following weekend was Disney (here). & the one after that was a special one. We got to go to the temple with my in laws and do my MIL's mom's temple work & seal her to her parents. We believe that those who've passed away have an opportunity to accept the gospel in the next phase of life. We also believe that marriages are eternal, not 'til death do us part' - but in order to be bound in earth AND heaven, requires the proper authority - the priesthood. It was a beautiful day and I just couldn't help but smile the entire time.
